Frequently Asked Questions
Climbing
How does climbing on the Omni Board feel?
The climbing experience was our number-one priority when developing the Omni Board. Our first goal was to make a rotating wall that felt as solid as a bouldering wall. We achieved this with a patented internal support system. Go ahead, make your dynamic throws and this wall will not budge.
Can I use the Omni Board for endurance climbing or limit bouldering?
Yes! With 987 unique holds, the Nectar Board has over double the bouldering capabilities of other bouldering system boards (because there is always a backside!). This, with rotating routes, makes the Omni Board the most versatile training board on the market.
What if the route or boulder that I select to climb starts on the backside of the wall?
Once your climb is displayed to the board, the system will automatically rotate the starting slat to the correct position. You sit back and watch. In addition, the wall will precisely change to the starting angle of the climb you selected.
What skill level is the Omni Board designed for?
Climbers of all levels can use the Omni Board, from beginners to advanced athletes, thanks to its adjustable angles and hold diversity.
Can I create a route that goes from -10° to 60° and back to -10°?
Yes! All within the same route. It takes ~30s for the board to go from one angle limit to the other.
Can I climb faster/slower to get through an angle-change section easier?
No, the angle-change speed is dependent on how fast you climb the section. If you climb it slower, the angle changes slower and vice versa. No shortcuts here 😉!
Technical
Tell me about your hold set.
The Omni hold set features 987 Halo Holds (clear-backed with a transparent base for LED glowing). The hold set consists of 325 large jugs, 175 small jugs, 114 large crimps, 61 small crimps, 82 large edges, 48 small edges, 52 large pinches, 23 small pinches, 75 large slopers, 53 large pockets, 17 small pockets, and 75 small non-categorized. We approached our hold set from the lens of large and small holds versus hand and foot holds allowing for the most versatility at the board angles.
Our holds are mostly hollow-backed making allowing for the most affordable hold set for you! We are the first to achieve a hollow-backed Halo Hold thanks to our LED system.
Tell me about the LEDs you use.
Yes please! Visibility of lit-up holds is very important to us. For each hold, there are 8 LEDs to make them glow. That means there are 7,896 LEDs per Omni Board! Even with tons of chalk and rubber, you will see your holds brightly lit.
What is the angle range of the Omni Board?
-10° slab to 60° overhang.
What is the construction of the Omni Board comprised of?
Many custom manufacturing techniques are used to achieve the requirements of the product. However, in general, the slats are made of hard-anodized extruded aluminum, the internal frame is made of a combination of hard-anodized extruded aluminum and powder-coated steel tubing and the external legs are made of powder-coated, laser-cut steel tubing and sheet.
How big is the Omni Board?
Please reference the Omni Board product page.
What are my pad options?
You can purchase the standard Omni Board pad, you can work with our team to create a custom pad solution for your needs, or you can install your own pad solution (note: a 12″ or 300cm pad height is ideal).
Mobile App
Is the app available for both iOS and Android?
Yes!
Is there multi language support?
Currently, only English and Chinese versions of the app are supported. We will soon be adding other language support!
What units does the app use?
Up to you! Within the settings of the app, you can select which units you want to use for length (metric vs imperial), route grades (French vs YDS), boulder grades (V-Scale vs Font.)
Do I need an internet connection to use the app?
As long as you are logged in, you do can use the product with its full capability without internet. However, to receive the most current library of climbs, you will need to connect to the internet.

How much ceiling height do I need?
The standard configuration of the board requires 14′-10″ (4.494m) of ceiling height. However, we also offer a short leg configuration which requires 13′-10″ (4.194m) of ceiling height. The short leg configuration has all the exact same capabilities as the standard configuration. The short leg configuration has the climber closer to the pad making falls slightly shorter. It also affects shaking out mid-route. It is common for your hand to hit the pad surface, especially at steeper angles.
How much floor space do I need?
At least 13′ wide x 16′ long. If purchasing the standard Nectar pad, 16′ wide x 20′ long is required.
Do I need a concrete floor?
Yes. Specifically, you need at least a 4″ thick concrete slab with a strength rating of 4,000psi.
What kind of electrical outlet do I need?
A NEMA 6-20 outlet: 3-conductor AC outlet rated for 250V (max) and 20A (max). Please contact an electrician if you do not have this in your location.
Can I move my Omni Board after installation?
The Omni Board was not designed to be moved once assembled. In order for the Omni Board to be safely moved after installation, it must be mostly disassembled.
How is a Omni Board safely secured?
The Omni Board is secured using concrete anchors into a verified concrete slab. The Factor of Safety for the anchors is 20x. In the extremely unlikely case of concrete failure, 12ft long angle iron supports, extending under the pad, will prevent the wall from falling over.
Can Nectar help me with a custom pad solution?
Yes. After purchasing, our team will help you through your padding needs. If a custom pad solution is required, a quote will be provided soon after.
